Chesterfield Canal Restoration Episode 3 - Staveley Puddlebank

Описание к видео Chesterfield Canal Restoration Episode 3 - Staveley Puddlebank

We continue our series following the Chesterfield Canal restoration project - looking this time at the historic Staveley Puddlebank, which is the next section in restoring the missing section between Staveley and Kiveton Park.

Recently it was announced that Staveley has been awarded £5.3m from the Staveley Town Deal for further restoration of the canal.

We start at the Hartington Harbour and Staveley Town Lock where we left episode 2. There are recently announced plans for a new lock and new bridges over the canal. The first bridge that will be construction will be for the former Great Central Railway - now Transpennine Trail.

We walk along the route of the canal, now infilled past the Bellhouse Basin, former gasworks and railway. Now the compound for the‪@chesterfieldcanaltrust5186‬.

We walk along the winding puddlebank for around half a mile before reaching the former aquaduct over the River Doe Lea - the story of which I will cover in a future episode.
