University Parks via St. Nicholas School and Cherwell Drive to Headington, Oxford, May 29th 2024

I start off much as in    • University Parks, Harberton Mead and ...   . But after leaving the Parks by the Rainbow Bridge, I walk left along the edge of New Marston Meadows and then follow Marston Brook, and eventually the back of Arlington Drive. This brings me out at St. Nicholas School, from which I walk to Headington by following Cherwell Drive / Headley Way, then cutting through the John Radcliffe Hospital grounds to Cuckoo Lane. Headington has lots of cafés: I finish with coffee from Il Botanico on Windmill Road, and buy some more Japanese goodies from Thong Heng. The route is a useful way from the centre of Oxford to New Marston, Old Marston, and Headington.
