Ford Fiesta 1.0 Titanium Auto (2018) Review - New & Fun Filled As Ever!

Описание к видео Ford Fiesta 1.0 Titanium Auto (2018) Review - New & Fun Filled As Ever!

In 1976 The Ford Motor Company launched the Fiesta compact hatchback. Since its inception, the Fiesta has featured in markets including, The United Kingdom, Germany, Valencia, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, China, India, Thailand, and South Africa and proven its incredibly popular global success. With 2018 being the year of the global two most popular supermini's, the Volkswagen Polo and Ford Fiesta, we got behind the wheel of this, the fun-loving new Ford Fiesta 1.0 Titanium.

Improved Looks, Further Dynamism

Based on the same platform as its predecessor, this the 8th-generation Fiesta, features many improvements which can be noticed all-round.

Firstly, the body has less roll and is substantially stiffer than before. While the 7th-generation left little to complain about in terms of handling and its fun-loving nature, this new-comer just simply inspires further confidence.

Upmarket materials now further improve the cabin too, including a suite of new technological advancements. Ford also claims that the front track is 30 mm wider and the reworked chassis offers better body control and more cornering grip. These changes are evident from the get-go with a compact city slicking drive which is as engaging as ever.

Power Trains

Whether you want a petrol or diesel motor, both now feature force-induction technology within the Fiesta range. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost 3-cylinder engine is a peach of a motor, offering up 74 kW with 170 Nm of torque and in the case of my test unit mated to a smooth 6-speed automated transmission. Ford also offers the Fiesta with a 1.5-litre turbodiesel motor which delivers 63 kW with 175 Nm of torque. The Fiesta the manual and automatic transmissions have 6 forward speeds.

Having spent time with this gearbox, I can certainly attest for its smooth, enjoyable driving attributes. Fuel economy and efficiency are also of major importance with this new model, the diesel claims a mere 3.3 L/100 km, even if this may be a tad optimistic, I am happy to report that my time with petrol driven 1.0-litre variant saw several occasions with fuel economy being returned at sub 7.0-litres/100 km figures.

Tech & Safety

Gone are the days of a button-fest. Replacing the wash of many buttons and a cluttered fascia, Ford has now opted for a much cleaner, more modern and minimalistic cabin within the Fiesta as within much of their modern vehicles. Taking centre stage is a large touchscreen-based media system with Ford's simply easy to operate, intuitive and excellent Sync 3 system.
From every imaginable media source to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Sync 3 is a fantastic system and a great way to bring on Ford's newer more minimal cabin layout. From a safety perspective, a tougher and stronger crash-absorbing structure and front-, side- and curtain airbags, the new Fiesta features a wash of all the major safety systems. Some convenience features such as Hill Start Assist are also present for convenience.

Conclusion & Pricing

Though it feels long awaited, the new Fiesta is every bit as good and better than its predecessor. Improved build quality, a refined chassis and impressive levels of tech all help make for what is a vehicle which is new, yet as fun-filled as ever!
