MICHELANGELO (TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES)
Deep below the surface, in the sewers of New York City, four turtle brothers were mutated by radioactive ooze and began training in the art of ninjutsu. While in a fight with the fearsome Krang—our heroes in a half-shell were jettisoned on a one-way trip across the Multiverse.

It all began with Splinter finding himself without a home for the first time after Oroku Saki, aka Shredder, killed his master Hamato Yoshi. Splinter witnessed a prevented accident in which a truck released a canister that bounced in the streets unnoticed by the crowd. The canister hit and shattered a young boy's glass jar, which contained four baby turtles inside, and fell into the sewer.

While the leaves and newspapers broke their fall, the canister was broken and spilled a green radioactive liquid. Splinter washed them off of the goo as much as he could and gathered them in a coffee can, then took them to his burrow for some sleep.

The next morning, the can had tipped over, and the turtles, even Splinter, doubled in size. Splinter and the turtles were developing intellect, and even one of the turtles said Splinter's name. The turtles followed their adoptive father everywhere except above ground because humans would try to harm them as they do not understand.

Splinter then trained them in the ways of the ninja, teaching them all he learned from his master. Splinter then named them after the greatest Renaissance masters; Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo.

The turtles' only human friends were Casey Jones and April O'Neil, and a few others. They would battle many creatures and foes before defeating their arch-enemy, the Shredder.

HELLBOY
Anung Un Rama, whose name literally translates as “And upon his brow is set a crown of flame”, was conceived in October 15, 1574, the day that his birth mother, Sarah Hughes, a human woman, was on her deathbed. Hughes was a witch who conceived her powers from being the consort of Azzazel, Archduke of Hell, who was Anung Un Rama’s biological father. When Hughes attempted to repent at a church on her deathbed in East Bromwich, England, Azzazel burned her body away so that their child would be born and de-limbed Anung Un Rama’s right hand and replaced it with the aptly-named “Right Hand of Doom”, a relic tied to the Lovecraftian cult known as the Ogdru Jahad. When the other princes of hell learned of Azzazel’s actions, he sent Anung Un Rama away while the former was stripped of his powers and sealed away in an icy prison as punishment. 355 years later, in the final months of WWII, young Anung Un Rama was summoned to Earth by Grigori Rasputin, a deranged Russian mystic, to Tarmagent Island, off the coast of Scotland, as part of “Project Ragna Rok”, having been commissioned by the Nazis to turn the tide of the war in their favor. In a fireball, Anung Un Rama came to Earth, arriving at the ruins of the East Bromwich church on December 23, 1944. Proving not to be a true devil in the traditional sense, but a devil-like creature, colloquially referred to in myth as a Cambion, he was redubbed “Hellboy” by Professor Trevor “Broom” Bruttenholm. He was then taken by the United States Armed Forces to an Air Force base in New Mexico. Bruttenholm raised Hellboy in as normal an environment as possible, and ironically, as a catholic. When he grew older, following the success of his first mission in 1952, he was granted “Honorary Human” status by the United Nations, and he became a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, a private organization dedicated to combatting Occult threats, where he became known as “The World’s Greatest Paranormal Investigator”. As such, he interacts regularly with humans, especially law enforcement, military, and those who were referred to as “Scholars of the Weird”, most of whom do not react overtly to his strange appearance. In the BPRD, he is their primary agent, working alongside other human or quasi-human agents, including Kate Corrigan, a professor of folklore at New York University, Abe Sapien, an amphibian humanoid, and Elizabeth “Liz” Sherman, a young woman with pyrokinetic abilities. An occasional ally to Hellboy was the ghost of the murderous vigilante known as “The Lobster”. He reported directly to the director of the BRPD, who was also his adoptive father, Professor Bruttenholm, up until the professor was killed by a Lovecraftian frog monster.
