Created on October 7, 2005, the Military Emergency Unit is the first element of intervention of the Armed Forces in emergency situations.
Its mission is to act, anywhere in the national territory and in operations abroad, to contribute to the security and well-being of citizens in cases of serious risk, catastrophe, calamity or other public needs.
The Unit, of a joint nature, has soldiers from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Common Corps.
