Precious Coral from the Mediterranean, with Enzo Liverino

In the 12th edition of the Home Gemmology webinar, with the support of CIBJO - The World Jewellery Confederation, the session is on precious corals, in this case Mediterranean corals, known as Corallium rubrum, that has been used since Antiquity with strong symbolism in diverse cultures across the globe. After clarifying the differences between precious corals and the other corals, namely the endangered reef building species, there will be an introduction on the Mediterranean species and with a very special guest, Vincenzo Liverino, President of the Coral Commission of CIBJO, that will share coral stories live from his private family world-class coral museum in Torre del Greco. It is a unique opportunity to meet a living legend of the gem and jewellery industry. CIBJO President Dr Gaetano Cavalieri honoured this webinar with an address to all attending gem and jewellery industry colleagues in isolation during the lockdown.
