Pineapple (Ananas comosus) is an incredibly delicious and healthy tropical fruit originated from South America, where early European explorers named it after its resemblance to a pinecone. The Portuguese took the fruit from Brazil and introduced it into India by 1550, and now India produces more than 8% of total world production of pineapple. The major pineapple producing states in India are Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, and Bihar.

Fermenting pineapples may seem desperate to the uninitiated, but the result is a real alcoholic drink. Pineapples are high in sugar, and yeast naturally lives on pineapple skins. Because yeast eats sugar to make alcohol, the result can give you a buzz - an alcoholic pineapple drink, and adding your own of extra ingredients will increase the potency. Travel Chef thought of presenting one such recipe that is a low alcoholic dessert drink - Pineapple wine. This is an easy-to-make-at-home fruity wine that can be served for family gatherings. Here’s a list of what we need to prepare at home and this below quantity of ingredients can serve up to four bottles of wine.

800 grams of pineapple
10 to 15 pods of cardamom
10 to 15 pounds of cloves
2 sticks of cinnamon
1.3 kilos of sugar
2 liters of drinking water
Half teaspoon of yeast

Pineapple and its compounds have been linked to many health benefits, including aiding digestion, boosting immunity, and speeding up recovery from surgery, among others but the key factor that makes pineapple wine so healthy is the enzyme Bromelain, which is unique to pineapples. Bromelain supplements are said to treat a variety of health conditions, especially those associated with chronic inflammation, such as allergies, osteoarthritis, sinusitis, and ulcerative colitis. Bromelain is also said to stimulate digestion and improve heart health, as well as protect against some forms of cancer.

Pineapple wine is typically quite sweet and is almost always designed to be served chilled. It is sometimes blended with other tropical fruit flavors, particularly mango and passion fruit. Most people drink pineapple wine by the glass in much the way that they would drink white wine. It can also be used as the base of a pineapple cocktail. This wine takes absolutely no effort to make and will definitely give a kick. Some cheesy starter will perfectly complement the wine.

About Me:
Hi there! This is Jerry from Travel Chef. Starting a YouTube channel on food was a spark that struck me like having a delicious lemon souffle (pun intended) while I was having my masala dosa, and watching my mom and my wife cook. It struck me as to how to remember my mom’s recipes who is now 80 plus -- and, how do her children, daughter in law and grandchildren follow these recipes? After which all will be lost in time... Since me and my wife like travel and food, dad (above 85) suggested “Travel Chef”, and voila!, Travel Chef was launched. So, Travel Chefs' main priority is to capture the forgotten and authentic recipes that take place in each and every household and bring it to the entire world. By subscribing to our channel, please join us in our quest to have a glimpse of our hidden recipes. Bon Appétit!
