Basic backstroke to breaststroke turn

Hey Swimming Family - we have put together a simple video to share with you, the do's and don'ts for a backstroke to breaststroke turn. This is for beginners who want to know the basic rules and those wanting to race at Masters and are a little nervous on how to do this turn. Hope this video helps.

Always know your stroke count from the flags
On any of the different turns, you always need to touch the wall with one hand on your back

Once your feet touch the wall, give a powerful push off into a tight streamline

What not to do, or you will get a DQ - (Disqualification)
Do not tumble turn from back to breast
Do not touch the wall on your stomach
Do not touch the floor or use the lane-line for your turn
Backstroke to breaststroke means you push off on your stomach (do not turn onto your side for the dolphin kicks)

The Crossover turn is the newest and fastest turn. Here is my link to this turn    • Crossover Turn   Cyndi Starr

I hope this helps swimmers become more comfortable with learning to add backstroke turns to their workouts and also at swim meets.
