Create Black & White Fine Art Architectural Photos in Photoshop

In this video I demonstrate step x step how to convert a color architectural photograph to a black and white fine art long exposure look in Photoshop. The emphasis is on enhancing the sculptural geometry of architecture of various sorts and creating an artistic image. It is not about producing real-estate or 'purist' documentary photographs.

I show two methods to achieve the long exposure look - one with an original image that has no discernible clouds in the sky and another with an original image that contains fast exposure, puffy clouds. The step x step process I walk through in Photoshop involves five basic steps plus two optional ones.

The workshop is relevant to architectural photographers who've captured long exposure images in camera, too. You can skip the steps that show how to simulate a long exposure cloudy sky and simply follow the processes for converting images to a fine art black and white look. I suggest you follow the color to black & white sky conversion method shown in Demo 2 & the other image enhancement steps (not related to skies) in Demo 1.

This workshop is targeted to viewers with at least a basic understanding of Photoshop, layers and masks.
