A walk along the borderline between The Netherlands and Germany. An area with a lot of history and stories about WW-I trenches, smugglers and a lot more. While the buttercake is cooking in the oven I will tell you the story of 'Der Butternacht' (the butternight), smugglers and the 'Boterweg' (Butterway).

Ingredients for the buttercake:
butter, plain flour (or self raising flour), sugar, vanilla sugar, egg.
An oven to cook in, enthousiasm and fun.
