Upgrade - 2009 Porsche 997/911 Turbo "Going Retro" - Seat Disassembly and Upgrade - Part II

Описание к видео Upgrade - 2009 Porsche 997/911 Turbo "Going Retro" - Seat Disassembly and Upgrade - Part II

This is part II of my "Going Retro" seat upgrade. I sourced a pair of active Porsche sport seats and disassemble them for reupholstery and painting of the seat hardbacks, airbags and plastic bits. This video goes through the detailed steps of disassembling the sport seats but should work for the comfort seats as well.

My local body shops quoted me from $400 - $700 to paint the seats. This is pricey but still cheaper than purchasing $1900 OEM painted hardbacks from Porsche.

I hope you find this video helpful should you decide to paint your scuffed seat backs or simply replace them or replace blowned seat airbags.

UPDATE: one thing I didn't mention was raise the seat bit. That'll give you easy access to some of the screws for the panel with the seat adjustment switch. Also, try to center the seat after you remove the 4 bolts that hold it down - again, it makes removing and installing the plastic trims much easier.

Stay tuned . . . .
