Dr. Sam Schroetke of Physical Therapy & Hand Clinic of Hillsboro demonstrates the Pallof Press, which is a great exercise for engaging the oblique muscles. It is a spine sparing exercise because you are engaging your core to prevent movement/rotation.

Hold for 6-10 seconds and repeat 10-15 times per side.
