Creative Placemaking 101: A Tool for Community-Centered Revitalization

Описание к видео Creative Placemaking 101: A Tool for Community-Centered Revitalization

Creative placemaking is the practice of enhancing a neighborhood’s quality of life through arts, culture, and intentional community development to meet residents’ vision. This community revitalization strategy creates space for community members to collectively imagine what vacant properties can become. Creative placemaking has helped communities across the country turn vacant properties into cultural centers, live performance venues, art galleries, community kitchens, and more.

This session will explore how creative placemaking can be a powerful tool to foster equitable solutions to vacant properties and spark lasting change. Participants will learn about creative placemaking specifically on problem properties, understand the potential (and potential challenges) of creative placemaking, and hear about projects implemented in two communities.
