Haverigg Level Crossing

Описание к видео Haverigg Level Crossing

Saturday August 3 at 19.56. The 17.54 Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness (20.36) train. This is just over 4 miles from Green Road LC and is at the end of the line's detour around Duddon Estuary, an Irish Sea inlet. From here the line turns northwards and continues in that direction to Carlisle. This crossing is protected by cattle grids and has a separate gated way for cows to cross the line. That obviously involves extra expense. Does Network Rail willingly spend it to avoid its trains being disrupted by cattle? The 2nd camera revealed that there were cows taking an interest in the crossing. The road runs to Haverigg village, about 3/4 mile south of here, and has a name common in American towns, but unusual here, Main Street.
