Bootle Level Crossing

Описание к видео Bootle Level Crossing

Saturday July 22 at 13.51. The 11.56 Carlisle to Lancaster(16.08) train pushed into Bootle station by 37401. 309 of these locos were built and 37402 was seen at Park South LC. This is 5.3 miles north of Silecroft and a much more lively place despite the village itself being a mile and a quarter away. 17 people use the station per day. In 1945 a wagon containing depth charges in a train approaching Bootle caught fire. Railway staff stopped the train and detached the wagon but it exploded creating a 50 foot deep crater. Part of the station building here is for sale for £215,000. The only level crossing warning sign is that one just 10 metres from the crossing. A very long 205 seconds of the wait here was cut.
