STAR WARS 4K UHD Review + History, Formats, Collectibles & More

Описание к видео STAR WARS 4K UHD Review + History, Formats, Collectibles & More

Just why was Star Wars released in the UK so long after the USA? What was it like to see this historic film on a huge screen and which film formats was it presented it. All this and more is detailed along with the long home movie history of the film that actually began with the first Ken Films release in 1977. LaserVision, LaserDisc, VHS, DVD, Blu-ray and now the 4K UHD are all included in this retrospective along with a whole host of collectibles and merchandise made available over the years including the fabulous National Public Radio plays of the first three films made available on home media by Highbridge Audio.
This is a comprehensive look at the history of Star Wars from its release in 1977 all the way through to The Rise of Sklywalker in 2020 and includes a review of the 4K UHD Blu-ray release of the Special Edition version of Star Wars A New Hope.

off2 - Super 8 off-off Kino has put up an excellent Star Wars home movie retrospective 24/12/2022 and I recommend that one here complete with English subtitles:

Apparently the premiere release date in the USA was two days earlier than I say at the start of this video. I should have simply said "it opened in May 1977 seven months before the UK premiere".
