ACL Reconstruction hamstring graft technique is a surgical procedure to repair a torn ACL with a hamstring tendon. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of four major ligaments in the knee. It helps keep the knee stable and moving properly

Procedure of hamstring graft technique
Two small cuts are made around the knee
An arthroscope ( a tube with a video camera on one end) is inserted through an incision
An arthroscope allows the doctor to view inside the knee joint on a video monitor
The knee is bent at right angles
A small incision is made over the hamstring tendon attachment to the tibia and the two tendons are stripped off the muscle
The tendons are folded to create a 2- strand tendon graft
The hamstring graft is reinforced with sutures
The torn ACL is removed
A bone tunnel is drilled into tibia and femur
Graft is pulled through into position
Screws are used to hold the graft in the drill holes
Incisions are closed with sutures

Post- Treatment Care of Hamstring Graft Technique for ACL Reconstruction
Follow exercise plan as prescribed
Take medicines as prescribed
Keep operated leg elevated at a minimum of a 45° angle
Avoid strenuous activity
Avoid lifting heavy objects
