After a black cat dashed in front of their train, the dauntless railroaders of the New York, Susquehanna & Western didn't let superstition take hold as they proceeded apace on Utica NY's Schuyler Street the morning of Sept 26, 2023. However, within a few hours of crossing the black cat's path, an elderly driver tried to beat the train at a crossing in nearby New Hartford but her attempt failed. The driver wasn't hurt but her car was badly damaged. Fortunately, the train was moving at a slow speed, 10 mph or less. I wasn't on-scene when the collision occurred so there's no video of the "bad luck" event.
