You can hear why Berry Gordy wanted Ric Tic off of the Detroit soul scene on this record by the Al Kent Orchestra. It's obvious the two labels shared the Detroit sound (because they shared musicians), and Ric Tic was building up an arsenal of talented soul groups and singers belonging to the motor city. I hope to get as many Ric Tic singles as possible for the soul station, and the archives in general, and this record eloquently explains why. Enjoy. :)
