Full Route Visual | Kinchbus Skylink - Derby to Leicester | 912 (BX64 WJC)

This is my visual of the Skylink back to Leicester from Derby. It turns out the 64-plate Citaros differ inside from their 67-plate sisters. The 64-plate ones have an L.E.D sign with announcements whereas the 67-plate ones just have a TV displaying where you are (which I'm not sure was on properly on 915, that happened on 3800, the bus the dodgy outbound 158 was filmed on, and helped when I had no idea where I was going). Also, the seat next to me had a charging point going to Derby, this didn't, and this didn't appear to have a bell, the 67-plate one just did in the form of an old mobile phone sound.

The diversion is the same as the outbound, having to cross the M1 at junction 24 because of the bridge closure. That view in front from the dual-carriageway, gorgeous or what? And a proper Airbus landed down in front this time and not them little Flybe things. Further information, despite what the signs showed, the section through Kegworth is no longer part of the A6, as the bypass leading to the A453 went on to open in November 2018 (this was filmed in July).

Experiences: Nope, never been on the Skylink before. In fact, this was my very first visit to Derby.

How I felt: So what happened on the 2 didn't happen, I did hold my phone the whole time, but almost 2 hours each way did my back in. I was still very excited, especially going through East Midlands Airport. I did, however, find the section to Derby from the airport a lot longer than expected.
