Holidaymakers in Leicestershire and Derbyshire who travel to the airport by bus will be familiar with this route. This is the Skylink from Leicester St. Margaret's Bus Station to Derby Bus Station via Abbey Park, Abbey Lane, Red Hill Circle, Birstall, Loughborough straight up the A6, Hathern, Kegworth, East Midlands Airport, Donington Park, Castle Donington, Cavendish Bridge, Shardlow, Alvaston, Crewton, Wilmorton and Derby Railway Station.

The diversion is between Kegworth and East Midlands Airport. Normally, it would exit the village over a little bridge over the M1 to the A453 but that's currently closed due to the ongoing M1 roadworks, so they had to continue to junction 24.

The service runs every 20 minutes, with one service an hour serving Diseworth instead of Kegworth, using very luxurious Mercedes-Benz O350 Citaro 2s. Since this visual was recorded, the ex-Calverton variants on the 2 are also getting the same seats as these. Most are 64-plate and were recently joined by 3 67-plate sisters, which are slightly different interior-wise. They replaced Scania L94UBs which are re-branded, one of which I caught from Leicester to Sileby the other day.

UPDATE 2020: As if this year couldn’t get anymore depressing compared to the year this was filmed, the Citaros have been withdrawn, and E200 MMCs have took over.

Songs used:

1: Music: Arc North & Mirage - Morocco

This was my favourite song on Frequency, but like the last one on the 85, first two on the 127 and both on the 153, they've even sadly deleted that, along with the next two here.

2: Lavao & Earldom - Summerdream

3: Steam Phunk - Move On

Yes, there is a registration error in the intro card. I don't why but since they finally entered service in March, I keep thinking the 67-plate variants start with BP and not BF.
