Empty Bottle String Band was entertaining in an annual visit to "Music At The Market" on the Courthouse Square Farmers Market in historic Jonesborough, Tennessee. I have inserted some views of Jonesborough in the downtown area near the Courthouse Square on Farmers Market days. Jonesborough is the the oldest incorporated town in Tennessee and was chartered 17 years before Tennessee became a state when this area was still a part of North Carolina. It was the administrative center of "Washington Territory" encompassing all of North Carolina west of the Unaka Mountain range (now border with the two states). Today it is the county seat of Washington county, Tennessee.

Empty Bottle String Band was formed when they were all students at East Tennessee State University to perform a one-time gig at a new on-campus farmers market (   • The Empty Bottle String Band-- "How M...   ). They were so well received they decided to keep going and one of their earliest off-campus gigs was at the Jonesborough Farmers Market (    • Empty Bottle String Band-- Railroad Bill   ). History suggests that a performance at this location has become somewhat of an annual pilgrimage and in 2019 they scheduled appearances for both August and September.
