This video explains about approximation done in the equivalent circuit diagram of transformer with justification. After approximation the transformer can be represented by a single impedance only.
5. Open Circuit Test
Test carried out on transformer to predict its performance without actually loading it. Open circuit test is carried out on transformer to determine its core loss. In this video you will find how open circuit test can be used to determine core loss and shunt parameters of the transformer. One numerical problem has also been solved to understand this concept.
6. Short Circuit Test
Short circuit test is carried out on transformer to determine its full load copper loss. This video gives an explanation that how short circuit test could be used to determine full load copper loss and series parameters of transformer. One numerical problem has been solved to demonstrate this.
