Hi. I'm Rachel and I'm Jason, and today we are going to show you how to correctly test your pool water.

It's important to test your pool regularly, at least once a week during swimming season, to maintain its correct level and provide you with accurate information on what chemicals your pool needs in order to maintain its balance and help keep it sanitised and crystal clear.

We're using Hy-Clor AquaChek today to do this simple test. Firstly, make sure not to take the sample near the skimmer opening or any return jets. Preferably, go to the deep end of the pool.

Grab your test bottle, place your thumb over the opening, place your arm into the water until you're elbow deep, remove your thumb off the bottle, and collect your sample. Place your finger back over the bottle and bring it up.

Testing your water should be done at the same time of day every week. Next, we grab the testing strip and dip it into the water. Avoid shaking the bottle.

Wait 15 seconds, and then check and compare the strip on the Hy-Clor app on your mobile device, or alternatively, you can take your water sample into your nearest Bunnings store, and check the sample at the Hy-Clor kiosk. Make sure your water sample is taken the same day you check it, preferably within a few hours.
