Pan-Seared Fish with Spicy Tomato Sauce | Cook Fish with Confidence

Описание к видео Pan-Seared Fish with Spicy Tomato Sauce | Cook Fish with Confidence

In this video I will show you how to prepare a delicious pan-seared fish with a spicy tomato sauce that is inspired by Indonesian flavour, and what to do to prevent fish odour lingering in the house.

The accompanied sauce is originally an Indonesian sambal. I modified the recipe to make it less spicy and to include capsicum. This sauce goes well with eggs too.

Many people are intimidated to cook fish. Why?

1. Don't know how to buy
2. Don't know how to cook
3. The house will smell

I get that. For me, fish is delicate and good fish are expensive. I did not want to mess it up. I just stick with salmon. Its firm flesh makes it easy to handle. Or maybe I have cooked it so often I am more confident now? 🤔

Anyway one day I watched a fish cooking video. Oh my does it look good. It opened my eyes and mind and heart that it's actually not scary at all to cook fish!

Fish is high in good quality protein (means it has all essential amino acids that our body needs), Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals such as Selenium, Iodine, Zinc, Magnesium to name a few.

It offers so much nutrients that it is a shame to shun it at home.

Buy fish from quality stores / fishmongers that you trust. Fresh fish does not smell and taste fishy.

Popular fish are salmon, sea bass, cod, gurnard, snapper, hoki, tilapia, halibut, grouper, barramundi.

Ingredients:
Fresh fish ( I use snapper)

For 3-4 portions

Sauce:
2 long red chilli
2 shallots
1 garlic clove
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tomato
1/2 red capsicum
