Kelly from Killane was a leader of the 1798 rebellion. Born under the slopes of Mt. Leinster. He took part in the taking of New Ross and was captured afterwards when the redcoats retook the town. Along with all the prisoners taken he was executed.
Its a great song made popular by ballad bands of the 70s and 80s such The Dubliners. For this version I took inspiration from a slowed down harmonised version my dad used to do with Brendán Ó Dúill.
