Yamaha R15 V3 Adelin Radial Master Cylinder Install | Ultimate Brake Upgrade Part 2

Описание к видео Yamaha R15 V3 Adelin Radial Master Cylinder Install | Ultimate Brake Upgrade Part 2

The Yamaha R15 V3 is a fantastic little motorcycle. While I was completely blown away by the capabilities of this bike, braking certainly left a bit to be desired. My biggest issue was inconsistent feel from the lever along with it being squishy. So, what can we do about it?

The first upgrade that made sense was a steel braided brake line along with proper bleeding of the brakes. I chose the brake line from the Pulsar 220 which for Rs 1,111, is great value for money. The brakes immediately felt better. You can buy them from Bajaj's spare parts shop and I believe are the most cost-effective way to improve brakes.

Next up, I started searching for brake pads. My good friends at Speedmonks Performance Centre in Gurgaon recommended I go for Brembo sintered pads, which I am falling in love with. There is so much more power available than the stock pads now. Model number: Brembo 07HD21SP. I paid Rs 3,500 for them. To watch how I installed them and all the details and challenges (there was a big one), watch the first part of the Yamaha R15 V3 Ultimate Brake Upgrade series here:    • Yamaha R15 V3 Ultimate Brake Upgrade ...

And now, to the eye candy and the subject of this video. The radially mounted master cylinder by Adelin. It helps in providing a consistent feel through the lever and more power. I can also adjust how much modulation I want from the lever just at the twist of a screw now. Brilliant, I say, but definitely not a must have upgrade on such a small bike. The stock master cylinder is good enough. It just looks a million bucks and that's one of the reasons I wanted to go for it. Not disappointed at all.

I would say the radial master cylinder is something that you can absolutely skip. Had I not bought it from Ali Express first and just installed the Brembo pads, I probably would not have bothered with the master cylinder at all.

I paid 78.89 dollars for it on Ali Express (Rs 5,300) and it took about two weeks to deliver to my house from China. It did not attract any duty. If you want to, you can buy it here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Motor...

Of course with the master cylinder replacement I also had to put in new brake fluid. I went for Motul, which costs about Rs 500. It is DOT 3 and 4. I would have preferred Motorex DOT 5 but that was for about Rs 3,500.

For all this work, I paid Rs 1,000 as labour charges at Speedmonks. (Rs 200 earlier when I got the brake line changed at Karol Bagh)

Well, this is about it for now. As the saying goes, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so a video demonstrating the braking capabilities of this bike will certainly come up some time.

In the future, I will be upgrading the front brake caliper and the rotor as well. Just need to do a bit of research and figure out what works best. Leads on this will be appreciated.
