Chana Masala Punjabi Chikkar Chole recipe

INGREDIENTS:-
Dried chickpeas 2 cups (450g approximately)
Bicarbonate of soda ½tsp
Salt to taste
One small Onion
Chopped Garlic 1tbsp
Chopped Ginger 2tbsp
Turmeric 1 tsp
Red Chili 1 tsp
Whole cumin 1tbsp
Coriander 1tbsp
Black peppercorns 1tbsp
Black Cardamom 1unit
Star anise 1unit
Cloves 5-6
Oil/ghee 1 cup
