Sigmund Freud was born on May 6, 1856, and died on September 23, 1939, an Austrian psychologist. However, he initially worked as a neuroscientist, but later used psychology to diagnose the disease. According to Sigmund Freud, the unconscious is the most important factor in the creation of a person's personality. The person is not created by the influence of the consciousness in which he is acting at the moment. The experiences and memories we have in our lives are stored in the unconscious. Later in life, during its youth, its influence creates the personality group. By the time a child reaches the age of six, he has mastered all the experience needed to create his personal personality. Furthermore, neither the individual nor the outside world has the ability to change the development of this group. Thus, Freud said, the developmental stages of the organism play a crucial role.
The first stage of a child's development from birth to one year is called the oral sexual development stage, and the child later becomes more confident in associating with the world and himself based on the relationship that develops between the mother or the caregiver.
He pointed out that the period between the ages of 1 and 3 years is considered as the stage of anal sexual development and this stage is important for the emotional control of children.
Describing the developmental stage as the Latency period, Freud emphasized the need for the support of parents or guardians for a successful sexual adaptation of the child's gender identity. He pointed out that this period occurs between the ages of three and six. He stated that clear sexual desire does not occur during the developmental stage between the ages of six and twelve. He called this period the pallic stage. He acknowledges that full sexual well-being is the basis of satisfaction here, which has been described as the stage of maturity beyond the age of twelve.
