Looking to Dive Deeper? - Let's dive into The Word
Prayer/Devotional:
Holy Jesus,
Thank you for your unbelievable wisdom!
Thank you for leading us forward and showing us new ways to commune and connect with you and with your people. Jesus, thank you for the Grace within your wisdom, thank you for gently, and sometimes forcefully showing us errors in our ways, and helping us correct and move towards you, instead of the world. Jesus, let's lift up those who are struggling with Idols in their lives, let's lift up friends and family who are looking towards escapes, or materials, or worlds things to fill the need of you in their lives. Jesus, help us connect and understand the gift of the Holy spirit and His Presence, and please, teach us to love and grow and understand the gift of the Holy spirit, so that we may share it with others.
Lord Jesus, we pray these things in your name!
Amen!!
• James 1:5: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
This verse invites us to seek divine wisdom directly from God, who provides openly and lovingly to those who ask. It reminds us of the importance of looking to God for guidance rather than relying on worldly sources.
• 1 Corinthians 10:14: Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
Paul's straightforward command encourages us to avoid the distractions and false gods that can dominate our worldly life. This ties back to our theme of focusing on our spiritual path and true fulfillment.
• Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
These verses describe the virtues that arise from living in the Spirit, contrasting worldly desires with the gifts of spiritual growth and maturity. These fruits are foundational to living a life lead by the Holy Spirit, aligned with today's theme.
