Описание к видео Renewal of the student residence permit. Austria. MA35. How it goes for international students

Dear followers, this video was made for those who are about to renew their student residence permit and are unsure about how the whole process goes. Please keep in mind that I am NOT a visa consultant and double-check the website&emails&mails you get from the authorities regarding the documents you need to present, I am just here to tell you about my experience and how it goes for most international (non-EU) students (if you are from EU the process is different and simpler for you)

The main website with all information regarding the residence permit renewal:
You can change the language of it to English or to German
https://oead.at/en/to-austria/entry-a...

Most students will apply to the "no mobility programme", while some others might apply to "mobility programme" (https://oead.at/en/to-austria/entry-a...) but I have no idea what the latter one is and when you should apply there instead of the normal/standard "no mobility programme".

The application form in German: https://www.bmi.gv.at/312/60a/files/2...
YOU CAN ALSO FIND THE ENGLISH VERSION OF IT AND THE EXPLANATION FORM ON THE "MAIN" WEBSITE IF YOU SWITCH FROM DE TO EN

The declaration of regular expenses that is super easy to fill out but many students forget about it:

For WU students: every university will have its own platform where you can find all the digital documents about your study progress and of course, each university will have a printing station somewhere in the library

Write down your answers to have an easier time filling it out in the next year (if nothing has changed, if it did, you of course have to adjust the information accordingly)

11:45-12:35 Not everything applies to you!

12:36-12:56 Bring empty copies of the application form just in case you make a mistake and have to refill it

14:16-15:52 If you are a bit late, do not overstress! & How it usually goes

15:53-17:30 Check the expiration date of your travel document! It says the word “valid” there for a reason

17:31-17:58 Do not thing a situation is unsolvable, there is always a way to fix it

17:59-18:27 Declaration of regular expenses

18:28-18:42 If you are not sure about something in the form, you can also leave it blank or fill it out how you think is right and bring a spare empty form just in case

18:43-18:56 Application form explanation

18:57-22:07 The timeline of getting the new residence permit. Check your post box! Read the letter carefully (all sides!)

How it was for me:
14th of October: applied
8th of November: pickup

They cannot give you a new card before the old one expires. But if you urgently need to travel somewhere you can apply for an “emergency visa”, but please check the requirements of that document. If you have an “unusual” situation, reach out to the authorities via email describing it and asking if there is a solution for it

22:08-22:50 Don’t be intimidated by the whole process
As long as all your documents are clear and your situation is clear to them (e.g., you are a student continuing his/her degree) it should all be fine

22:51-22:57 The renewal appointment is usually less stressful than applying for the first time

22:58-23:27 Bye, bye!
