Bally Sports Detroit: Rochester Adams Highlanders 14 West Bloomfield Lakers 13 (November 12, 2021)

2021's Week 12 of Football Fridays on Bally Sports Detroit profiled the Regional Finals round of the MHSAA state playoffs. The game featured the reigning state champions in Division 1, the West Bloomfield Lakers, and the undefeated Highlanders of Rochester Adams.

Adams was in search of it's first Regional Championship since 2007, and had beaten West Bloomfield all the way back in Week 1 of the 2021 season, 35-17.

The re-match appeared to be going very differently early, as West Bloomfield, led by their All-State RB/FS Dillon Tatum (Michigan State commit), raced out to a 13-0 halftime lead behind two long Tatum touchdown runs.

In the second half though, it was the Adams defense that dominated the field. Led by senior defensive end Alex DeGrieck (Harvard commit), the Highlanders would surrender no more points. Their offense, directed by junior quarterback Parker Picot (Alabama Baseball commit), finished two touchdown drives in the second half, giving Adams a 14-13 lead, which would go on to be the winning margin.
