2023 MHSAA D1 Football Finals: Southfield A&T 36 Belleville 32 (November 26, 2023)

In the final game of the 2023 MHSAA Football Finals weekend, Southfield A&T and Belleville delivered a performance truly worthy of a championship game. The Belleville Tigers entered the 2023 Division 1 Championship riding a 38-game winning streak, the state's #1 overall ranking, and back-to-back D1 titles. Southfield A&T entered loaded with talent, but in uncharted waters, having never advanced to title game as Southfield A&T (2016-Present), Southfield High (1951-2015), or as Southfield-Lathrup (1967-2015). The game featured two of the finest quarterbacks in the Midwest, as senior Isaiah Marshall from Southfield A&T dueled the nation's top ranked junior signal caller from Belleville, Bryce Underwood. The game would come down to a defining final drive, as Southfield A&T took the lead with less than a minute left, and then held on for a stunning 36-32 upset victory. The game was called for Bally Sports Detroit by Matt Shepard, former University of Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner, and reporter Natalie Kerwin.
