The one who loved and cared us in our childhood,
ཕ་མ་ལས་ཀྱང་ལྷག་པའི།།
You are more than our parents.
༧ཡབ་རྗེ་གྲུབ་དབང་བླ་མ།།
A father figure, Your Holiness Drubwang Lama,
ནམ་ཡང་བརྗེད་ཐབས་མི་འདུག།
I can never forget you.
 
བྱམས་བརྩེའི་འོ་མའི་རྒྱུན་གྱིས།།
Through the stream of love and compassion
བྱིས་པའི་སེམས་པ་གསོ་མཁས།།
You are skillful in nourishing childish minds.
ཐབས་མཁས་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཅན་དེ།།
The one who is skillful and compassionate,
ད་ལྟ་ཡོད་ན་བསམས་བྱུང་།།
I wish he was present right now.

Through the stream of Dharma teachings
ཉོན་མོངས་དྲི་མ་འཁྲུད་མཁས།།
You are skillful in cleansing the afflictive emotions.
༧ཡབ་རྗེ་གྲུབ་དབང་བླ་མ།།
Your Holiness Drubwang Lama,
རྨི་ལམ་ནང་ནས་མཇལ་སོང་།།
I saw you in my dream.
 
ཞལ་ཏ་ཡང་ཡང་གནང་ཞིང་།།  
When you gave frequent advice
ཕྱག་གིས་བྱིལ་བྱིལ་མཛད་དུས།།
And caressed me with your hands (in dreams),
རྨི་ལམ་ནང་གི་སྣང་བ།།
The appearances of the dreams,
མངོན་སུམ་ཡིན་ན་བསམས་བྱུང་།།
I took them for real.

After you entered nirvaṇa,
འཇིག་རྟེན་མུན་པས་ཟིན་དུས།།
When the world was covered by darkness,
ཡང་སྤྲུལ་ཉི་མ་གཞོན་ནུ།།
The sun-like reincarnation of yours
གངས་ཅན་ལྗོངས་ནས་ཤར་སོང་།།
Was born in the Land of Snow (Tibet).
 
ཞལ་རས་གེ་སར་བཞད་འདྲ།།
Your face, which is like a fully bloomed flower,
གསེར་ཁྲིའི་སྟེང་ནས་ངོམ་སྟེ།།
Looks splendid on the golden throne.
གསེར་གྱི་ལྷ་ཁང་ནང་ནས།།
And inside the Golden Temple,
རྫོགས་ལྡན་བསུ་བར་སྨོན་ནོ།།
