Autopsy - Keeper of Decay (Bass Cover)

Описание к видео Autopsy - Keeper of Decay (Bass Cover)

A band everyone knows, from an EP it seems everyone overlooks, even more than the excellent "Retribution for the Dead". "Fiend for Blood" is their second and last release featuring Steve Di Giorgio as the session bassist, and this one really changed my playing in a lot of ways. Similar to Sadus's third LP, "A Vision of Misery", which was from around the same time, right between his two albums with Death, he throws in all of these Billy Sheehan type shred fills, typically over a riff with thrashbeats. This was also the first release he recorded on a fretless bass. The only other instance at the time was on previously mentioned Sadus record, where he played fretless for a solo on one tune.

As a result, I tried to approximate the fretless sound he gets on this one, which is more aggressive than the following "Individual Thought Patterns". In addition, those shred fills I tried to nail as much as possible, I'm not sure how many people would be able to pick out all the notes but I found the general area and upon listening to them side by side, my bass and the actual track seem to line up incredibly well with those fills. So I think I got them pretty accurate! My favorite part to play is probably the super doomy break after the initial verse, with some of the nastiest bass breaks I've ever heard in my life.

This one was taken at a time of day where the lighting is usually a kind where the algorithm doesn't want to show people the video, haha. But here's hoping it does! As always I tried my best and I appreciate anyone who checks it out.

Enjoy!
