The WWF attitude era was had it's fair share of popular tag teams, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say The Hardy Boyz were the most popular tag team at the time. Matt and Jeff Hardy were exciting in the ring, making fans jump off their seats with their high octane wrestling style.

As time went on, the WWE decided to split Matt and Jeff up. Matt Hardy was eager to show the world what he could do on his own, seeing as the fans were already firmly behind Jeff Hardy when it came to popularity. Matt became a heel and eventually moved to the Smackdown brand, and it was here in 2002 when Matt Hardy became Version 1. Matt Hardy V1 was a heel character in wrestling, a conifdent yet somewhat delusional Matt Hardy who wanted to give us all our weekly intake of Mattitude.
