Getting Rough with the Tormach PCNC 1100 CNC Mill

If you aren't using roughing end mills, you're missing out! This video walks through using a Lakeshore Carbide 4-flute aluminum roughing end mill to 'hog' out narrow slots in aluminum.

Taking 0.175" DOC, full 0.250 WOC, 5,100 RPM, and testing 25, 30 and 35 IPM in 6061 Aluminum.

I also discuss some of the science behind roughing end mills and how they are, in my opinion, more than meets the eye - really a force multiplier for a small shop!
