Wizz P90's In My Gibson ES-330...My Favourite Recorded Tones So Far?!

Описание к видео Wizz P90's In My Gibson ES-330...My Favourite Recorded Tones So Far?!

You might have seen my lovely Gibson ES-330 '61 VOS Reissue on the channel before - but probably not very often. It's a gorgeous instrument, but despite the mods I've done to it, it's always never quite gotten there in terms of sound and playing experience.

But I've recently made a couple of big changes to it - and wow, has it made a difference! Firstly, Matt at Monty's in Cheltenham fitted it with a Bigsby a few weeks ago (there's a whole video of that). But I've also installed a set of pickups that are pretty hard to come by - and it took a few cheeky emails to obtain....but I was eventually able to track down some Wizz P90s!

Wizz (AKA ‪@aleksandar.vrhovec‬) are best known for using a historic winding machine + vintage spec materials to craft some of the finest PAF replicas out there. But very occasionally, they put together a handful of P90s - and for the few folks who are lucky enough to own a set, they say they're some of the absolute greatest P90s being wound (occasionally!) today.

So today, I'm going to crank this gorgeous guitar through a handful of tube amps - no pedals - to show you what it's capable of. Yes, firing up 50W amps in a small room with a fully hollow guitar is going to lead to a few feedback issues...but you know what? I just don't care! Making noise with this thing is just too much fun. So prepare for some of my favourite guitar tones I've ever recorded.....feedback howls and all!

What do you think? Classic, vintage P90 juiciness? Or not for you? Comment below!
