Clint surprises Viki with a party at the Palace celebrating her exoneration. Viki thanks everyone for standing by her, and especially Jon for being her brilliant lawyer. Renee promises Asa and Max will be there as soon as they finish some business. Tina is about to make a toast when Dorian crashes the party to asks whether Viki is running city hall or if Niki Smith is. Clint gets riled up, but Viki calms him down. She says Dorian is a bitter, cruel woman, and that she pities her. At the church confessional, Tony asks another priest for guidance. The priest asks whether the woman who has him so mixed up has hurt someone, and Tony says he doubts it was intentional. The priest asks whether he has proof that the woman committed a crime. Tony says he does have proof, but he hasn’t turned it over to the police, not yet anyways. Max and Alex are working late when Gabrielle drops Al off. While Alex takes Al to see Asa, Gabrielle protests her innocence of the new charges brought against her. She admits she’s made mistakes in the past, but swears she had no part in Carlo’s plot. She asks Max if he will stand with her or against her when she goes on trial. Max says his intent is to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. He says if that helps her, he’ll be thrilled, and if it doesn’t, he’ll be sorry. Gabrielle storms out, saying she could tear the whole family apart if she wanted to. Asa goads Bo into inviting Alex to Viki’s party. Bo tries to ask her, but Alex keeps interrupting to ask about Viki and about Gabrielle’s trial. She is about to leave, apparently to go grocery shopping, but Bo finally manages to ask her to accompany him to the celebration, promising they’ll just drop in briefly and then grab dinner. Alex agrees. Dorian tries to convince Jon that her only concern was for Viki’s mental health. Jon assures her that Viki has her life back together. Dorian says she’ll see to it that Viki’s days as mayor are numbered. Asa arrives late to the party and immediately throws Dorian out. Asa thanks Jon for his help, and Renee welcomes him back to town. Cord gets an urgent call from Izzy at the banner, who tells him the presses are broken down again and he can’t seem to get them running no matter what he tries. Cord says he’ll be right over. Izzy says he’s the best mechanic in the business, but Cord is hopeful together they can get things running again.

Gabrielle asks Jon to represent her. Jon says he thought she already has a lawyer, but she says it’s a man she barely knows and doesn’t trust. Jon says he can’t represent her anyways, because it’s a conflict of interest. Viki is his client, and the alleged victim of her attempted murder charge is Viki’s daughter. Jon says he can make some calls to help her find a lawyer. On the pier, Gabrielle hears the voices of Asa, Clint, and others taunting her, and promising she is headed to Statesville. Tony finds her in this reverie, and she hopes he is there to offer comfort, but instead he produces the vial she used to drug Viki’s drink and asks her about it. Clint suggests next time they throw a party, they should do it at the house so they don’t have any unexpected visitors. While Cord tries to fix the presses, Izzy and the other technicians complain that Clint ordered new equipment ages ago, and it should have been installed by now. Cord thinks he knows how to fix the press, but when he tries, the machine sparks and he receives a large electric shock.
