One Life to Live 3/25/1991

As Cord is electrocuted, Izzy cuts the power to the presses, and Cord collapses to the ground. When he realizes Cord isn’t breathing, Izzy calls 9-1-1. Gabrielle tells Tony she knows nothing about the vial, but he says he knows she’s lying and he can’t keep it a secret any longer. Gabrielle tries to manipulate Tony into keeping the vial from the police. She tries to use his love for her to convince him not to go to the police. Gabrielle says if Tony gives the evidence to the police, she’ll know he doesn’t love her. He wonders if once again he’s being played for the fool before leaving Gabrielle there in the rain. Jake and Megan finally arrive at Viki’s party. Tina has a sudden chill and feels like something is wrong. Max gets a call about Cord’s accident, and he tells Tina and the others. The entire Buchanan clan leaves the party to head to the hospital. Troy and Sheila have dinner, and Troy admits it’s been five years since his wife died and he’s been in a rut most of that time. But he says he’s enjoying making new memories with Sheila. Cord’s ambulance arrives at the hospital and Larry has him taken into the emergency room. Tina arrives and pleads with Larry to tell her if Cord is alive.

Megan goes to see Hunter but finds Wanda in the room she thought Hunter would be in. She’s surprised when Wanda answers the door, but Wanda explains that Hunter is bunking with Andy. She asks Megan, now that she is back with Jake, to give Andy a shot with “that handsome movie star.” Megan goes across the hall to find a shirtless Hunter.

Brenda tells Clint and the family that Cord is being taken to the operating room because his burns need immediate attention to prevent him losing the use of his hands. Jake makes the same mistake as Megan, knocking on Wanda’s door to find Hunter. Wanda says she really needs her rest and directs him across the hall again. Clint blames himself for Cord’s accident, believing he should have moved faster in replacing the old equipment at The Banner. Viki says none of this is is fault, reminding him he signed a contract to replace the presses, but the vendor has been constantly delayed. Tony lies in bed, contemplating his next move. Gabrielle shows up on his doorstep and he gets a towel to help her dry off. Gabrielle tells Tony she thinks she’s always loved him ut was unable to face it before now. She suggests they run away together. Tony says except for her son, Gabrielle has very little love in her. Larry warns Tina and Clint that things are touch-and-go and that Cord might not make it, but he lets them in to see him for a few minutes. Clint tells his son he loves him.
