The Baker Bowl

Описание к видео The Baker Bowl

The Philadelphia Phillies have had five home stadiums in their existence. In this video, we explore the history of the Baker Bowl, formerly known as Philadelphia Base Ball Grounds and National League Park. Once praised as a state of the art achievement in baseball stadium architecture, the Baker Bowl sadly deteriorated and became an eye sore that the Phillies abandoned in 1938. Throughout its history, the Baker Bowl saw the likes of Ed Delahanty, Gavvy Cravath, Grover Cleveland “Ol’ Pete” Alexander and Chuck Klein. The park hosted the Phillies’ first World Series in 1915, and Babe Ruth’s last game.
