Hirajoshi Japanese Pentatonic Scale - Modes, chords and ideas

Here's some Hirajoshi highjinks to make you sound windswept and interesting. Japanese music is a lifetime study (as is all good music) and here I only scratch the surface of this esoteric and beautiful musical language.
I used the Hirajoshi in my tune Nickjitsu vs Godzilla on the Hyperreal album. The scale breathed life into what was a stale metal mess. I hope you find the inspiration that I did by not only learning the scales, but submerging yourself into the music of Japan (or any other country with a vowel in it)!
