Gold Rush: Paul's Favorite Apple

Описание к видео Gold Rush: Paul's Favorite Apple

This week on DAFT (Dumb Apple Farmer Talks) a DAMN exciting episode. We talk about Gold Rush apples. The last major variety that we pick at our farm. Co-op 38 was developed by Purdue in Illinois and ripens in late October. It has some of our favorite characteristics: disease-resistance, tannins, and complex flavor.

Gold Rush is also prized for maintaining its crunch and maturation of flavor for an unusually long storage time, in our case over 6 months when kept in a chilled environment. It makes great pies, and is one of the very few dessert apples that makes exceptional hard ciders.
