Coach Kenny in The Hitters Laboratory showing us the Load & Explode Drill. This is a great way to break down the swing and make sure the player is firing the bat from the best position possible. In this drill you’ll take a normal load/stride to the ball and freeze. When frozen, you’ll simply check to make sure of the following: 1: weight is back - 2: back knee is inside back foot - 3: bat knob pointing toward catcher - 4: spine is straight/posture is great. From there it is ALL forward momentum in the swing.
