Fixing A Broken Vintage Keyboard With My Daughter (Casio CZ-5000 Repair)

Описание к видео Fixing A Broken Vintage Keyboard With My Daughter (Casio CZ-5000 Repair)

Many many years ago my Dad gave me one his keyboards, the Casio CZ-5000. I thought it was (and still do) the coolest keyboard ever!

Unfortunately, many years ago, while moving an object was knocked over during the event, and with force, broke several of the keys. Replacement keys were bought online, but the project got put off and forgotten. Every time I saw this keyboard, I thought I wanted to fix it, but always was too busy to get to it.

It just so happened at the spur of the moment on April 3rd my daughter, Piper, and I decided to get this done. And we made a video about it.

Sorry about the timestamp, my camcorder has been turning it on, and I just realized it. Sorry about some shakey video, the stabilization is not a forte in this camera. Filmed partly on tripod, partly by my hand, and partly by Piper's hand.

I hope you enjoy this video. One thing not mentioned is the plastic strip that holds the keys was very brittle and snapped, so I used an old trick of duct tape. Maybe one day I'll find out where I can buy replacement strip and we'll fix that part and update the video? Who knows?

Now to look on my backup of my computer to see if I have any of my custom patches saved...
