Описание к видео Foodie Tips at the Danish island Læsø (Laesoe)

The island Læsø is a Danish destination for food lovers. You can get wonderful shellfish and fresh fish and lots of other local produce especially in the summer time. Go to the many small stalls with local specialities, the fish mongers and boats in the harbors, and the local Læsø butcher to get ingredients for home cooking.

You can visit “Læsø Sydesalt” - in English “the Salt Works”. Salt is made by seething – a process where the saline ground water is heated in large iron pans until the salt crystalizes. At the “Salt Works” there are workshops and you can buy the very tasty salt.

In this video the cookbook author, food critique and writer Helle Brønnum Carlsen gives tips for how to get good tasty food at Læsø. All her life, she has visited Læsø several times a year.

One of the several local products is seaweed. Rie Toftlund has “Læsø Tang” and harvest local seaweed, dryes it and makes different products with different kinds of seaweed.
There are also several good places to have take away and to eat out.

Do not miss shellfish and fresh fish when visiting the island – it is a beautiful place to visit and to get into nature for walks, wild food gathering, horse riding, swimming and much more.
