Danish Smørrebrød – Open Sandwiches topped with Tasty Pickles

In this video you meet Helena Grayston in my kitchen. She works with all kinds of preserves for all types of meals. In the video she gives tips about how to make pickles for homemade Danish Smørrebrød. She is the author of the Danish book “Syltedronningen – Moderne syltning til alle måltider”

Three classic types of “Smørrebrød” are served with pickled toppings:
Cold boiled potatoes are served as a Danish Open Sandwich on ryebread and we call it a “Kartoffelmad” in Danish. “Leverpostej” – Danish liverpaté is the national “pålæg” that goes on top of ryebread, as well as Danish yellow cheese.
