How to mount a Tentipi Porch onto a Nordic Tipi

A porch gives you space for shoes and other items and enables dry entry into the tent. When the apse is completely opened, there is still a rain protected area under the porch with a 180 degree view.

This is what you need to mount a porch to the Nordic Tipi: The porch, pole, tent pegs , storm cords and a measuring tape

Attach the porch’s Velcro strip to the Nordic tipi’s accessory sleeve, or use an accessory connector if your tipi does not have the accessory sleeve.

Firmly press the Velcro strips all the way to the edges.

Extend the band at the corner of the porch and attach it to the Nordic tipi’s storm cord fastenings by pushing the toggle through the hole and locking it with the ring. Do the same on the other side.

Ons size 7, the band at the corner is only attached to one storm cord fastening.

Assemble the pole. Push it into the channel on the porch.
Place the ends of the pole into their respective pole pockets. Adjust the strap.

Use the measuring tape to get the correct distance between the pegs.
Hook the ring at the end of the pole pockets to the pegs. Adjust the tent peg catch strap to the desired length and use a tent peg to fasten it to the ground.

Extend the porch, fix it to the ground with tent pegs and tighten the straps.
Attach the storm cords, and tighten them. Pegs and straps may need to be adjusted so the porch fits snugly against the tent.

Attach the strap on the inner wall of the porch to the storm cord fastening beside the door. Do the same with the other strap. Adjust the bands which connect the porch to the storm cord fastenings on the outside.

Stretch the cord at the top, making a ridge so that rain water cannot collect there. Take off the front of the porch if you only want it as a roof over the door.
