Proto 2000 flat car kit build

This week I decided to build a freight car kit.
This one is an older Proto2000 flat car.
It's a more detailed kit than the Athearn kit I did a couple of months back, but it really isn't a lot more difficult to put together.

Construction time was about 2 and a half hours (not counting time waiting for glue to dry). It took me a lot longer to edit the video!

As usual, I made a few mistakes, but nothing that can't be recovered from. That's all part of the challenge and fun.

Unfortunately these kits are no longer in production, but they can still be found on e-bay and similar places. Or if you don't want the fun of building the kit, you can get them ready-to-run from Walthers.


For anyone who is still reading down here, if you spotted any kits on my shelf that you'd like to see me work on, let me know.

It's probably not the best way to do it.

But it's how I do it.
