REBEL1100: Coffman's THUNDER Exhaust for the 2021 Honda Rebel 1100

Coffman's sent me their new THUNDER slip-on exhaust for the Rebel 1100 so I could install it and give my impressions. We were also curious to test the fitment with the Honda OEM saddlebags and particularly with the larger 14L bag on the right side.

These exhausts are manufactured here in the USA (Ukiah, CA) from 304 stainless steel tubing that is CNC machined, mandrel-bent, and then ceramic-coated for long-lasting durability. They are also fully rebuildable if you should ever need to repack them or obtain spare parts. I've had the Shorty on my Honda CB500F for 5+ years and ~15K miles, and it still looks and performs like new!

The new Thunder exhaust is longer and slightly upswept compared to the Shorty. The fit and finish are excellent, as always! There isn't any noticeable sound difference between the Shorty and the Thunder that I could determine, but the dB readings revealed that the Thunder's SPL is a bit lower at high-throttle positions (-6.1 dBA). The exhaust outlet of the Thunder is also further behind the rider's head, so it sounds slightly quieter while cruising.

If you plan to use the larger 14L pannier on the right side, then you might have clearance or heat issues. It's a tight fit, so I think the bottom of the large bag might get cooked! If you have the smaller 10L bag, then you shouldn't have any problems. Cheers! 😉👍
